Outdoor Climbing Info

Local Crags

Below are links to various local climbing spots around the Greater Los Angeles area.

Williamson Rock
Located just north of Los Angeles off of the Angeles Crest Highway (Hwy 2), Williamson provides quick weekend climbing almost year-round.

Malibu State Park
Another spot for a quick weekend of climbing. This local crag in the Santa Monica mountains can be reached by taking the Las Virgenes Hwy exit off of the Interstate 101 Fwy.

A Little Farther Out

Climbing spots far enough to stay overnight to make it worthwhile.

Joshua Tree National Park
Of course we had to include this mecca of climbing...

Tahquitz & Suicide Rocks (Idyllwild)
For some, climbing here can be a long one-day climb.

New Jack City (Barstow area)
Make sure to bring plenty of water. Campsites are primitive and undeveloped.

Owens River Gorge (Bishop area)
Great sport climbing area just north of Bishop. On a good weekend, you can both climb here and snowboard at Mammoth.
